The
bass contact microphone is attached to the
underside arch of the bridge by means of double-sided tape. photo 2.
The best way to do this is to use
differential tack tape so that the
microphone can be easily removed without
damage. The procedure is to line the inside
of the bridge with the D/S tape. Remove the
backing paper and place the contact
microphone on the low tack surface that is
exposed.
The contact microphone can also be combined with a capsule microphone. The two devices are connected to a
single pre-amplifier having separate volume controls for each
device but with a single output. This can be attached to the tailpiece of the Bass on the
inside or outside.
Both the contact microphone and the
capsule microphone are terminated in female
mini XLR sockets, as is standard with
Accusound products.
The output from the pre-amplifier is a full-size
male XLR.
These systems are also
available as wireless systems. |
