Home Ronnie Scott's

Ronnie Scott's, the famous London Jazz club, has started 2011 by ordering yet another piano contact mic from Accusound.

These contact microphones produce a rich, faithful sound directly off the piano soundboard. They allow high sound levels before feedback, just what all sound engineers need, a great sound with no worry of feedback.

The contact mic uses a vibration sensitive polymer, with an extreme frequency bandwidth, to convert the vibrations of any soundboard into electrical signals. These can then be amplified by any standard musical equipment.

Accusound manufacture these mics for piano and harp, plus smaller versions for double bass, cello, viola and violin. The technology is so versatile and Accusound’s manufacturing capabilities so wide, that this type of pickup can be made to fit virtually any musical instrument with a soundboard.
