The Duplets

Accusound are proud to sponsor The Duplets.

Brought up in the Scottish Highlands, Gillian Fleetwood and Fraya Thomsen first met in musical workshops in Inverness. Both went on to study in Glasgow where their friendship and musical partnership continued. As The Duplets they debuted with a sell-out concert at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival and have since appeared at Celtic Connections, Green Man Festival, West End Festival, Blas, Solfest, The Giant’s Footstep, Dinan Harp Gathering, Edinburgh Fringe and more.

The Duplets specialise in harp, song, and group music for all ages, performing in concerts and festivals and running workshops in the UK and Europe. They have written for the Journal of the Scottish Harp Society of America and composed the soundtrack for “The Worm Inside” by Sam Firth.

"Tree of Strings", their debut album featuring many of their own compositions, gained extensive airplay across BBC Radio stations while their music video, "The Queen of All Argyll" (2008) won an Albert Award. In 2009 their drive and enthusiasm to perform and promote their music took them to the finals of the Prince's Trust Award for Young Highland Entrepreneur of the Year.

Their intertwined harps and vocals can also be heard on “Long Case Clock Suspension" and "Apple Cherub Dove" by Abagail Grey, produced by Chris Geddes (Belle and Sebastian).

The future looks bright for the Duplets with upcoming concerts and showcases in the USA, UK and Europe, introducing new audiences to Gillian and Fraya's undoubted talent and passion for music both ancient and modern.
